Basis

Since 2011, Blythswood provide support for 30-35 families in need. In addition to the counselling services provided to the families, they also benefit from monthly packages containing basic food, clothing and footwear.

Together with local authorities and social services, the BASIS Project aims to provide both the material support of families in difficulty and the emotional support they need.

Every month, the project coordinator, Agnes Csiszer and the involved volunteers visit vulnerable families with packages of basic food and clothing.

The beneficiaries of the project consider the visits and packages important, and in turn they also try to help others. Sári is raising her grandson in a village near Cluj-Napoca, and often sends something from her garden to the boys in the Daniel Center.

Bernadette, likewise, sends the clothes that have become too small for her daughter to other children in the project. Rodica tells us that “…you don’t even have to bring anything, just visit me”.
If you would like to support the BASIS project, we are happy to receive new clothes and non-perishable food such as flour, sugar, pasta, oats, rice, cooking oil, canned goods (vegetables, fruit and meat). Please contact us at romania@blythswood.org for information on how to donate.
