The BASIS Project
Since 2011, Blythswood Romania has helped 30 vulnerable families per year in and around Cluj with the BASIS Project. Together, with the local authorities and social services, the project aims to provide these families with ways in which to ease the pain and burden of their everyday lives.
Every month, Project Co-ordinator Agnes Csiszer, visits the families with care packages consisting of food and clothes while also offering counselling and advice.
This is a valuable assistance to those who receive it. Arpad, who lives on a hill overlooking the city of Cluj-Napoca with his wife, tells us “the biggest joy you bring us is not just the food, it is the visit. Every little you bring us is a huge help”.
If you would like to help The BASIS Project, we welcome donations of good quality clothes and non-perishable foods including flour, sugar, pasta, oatmeal, cooking oil, rice, canned goods (including vegetables, fruit and meats). Please contact us by email at romania@blythswood.org or call Project Manager, Agnes Csiszer, on 072 3173704 to find out how you can donate.
