The Park of Stories

The event is part of the cultural agenda of the town of Jimbolia and includes elements of experimental musical theater for children and creative workshops aligned with the stories from the musical. The park thus becomes a storybook park. Organized by Blythswood on the occasion of June 1st, the event is financially supported by the Jimbolia Town Council.

The Park of Stories

The 2016 musical performance is titled “Without a Heart” and is a continuation of the story from the previous edition (“Arthur’s Crown”). The musical story intertwines several well-known fairy tales and stories, featuring characters such as The Fairy Godmother (Cinderella), Maleficent (Sleeping Beauty), The Queen of Red Heart (from Alice in Wonderland), Ursula (The Little Mermaid), and The Queen (from Snow White).

The play is divided into six stations (acts), with characters moving from one station to another according to the evolution of the story. The stations are grouped in the same area, allowing the audience to stay in place even as the action shifts. Each station has, in parallel, a creative workshop for children aged 5 to 14, as follows:

  1. Station “The Prison of Lost Souls” (items: fingerprint sheet, prisoner’s tablet, temporary tattoos, and paper chains)
  2. Station “The Gingerbread Bar” (items: gingerbread decorated with colorful icing)
  3. Station “Wonderland” (items: ceramic tea set, Alice’s headband, bunny ears, and the Mad Hatter’s hat)
  4. Station “Atlantis” (items: mermaid tail and little fish; plus karaoke)
  5. Station “The Mirror Maze” (items: mirror frames, glass and stone painting)
  6. Station “The Sleeping Forest” (items: pillows to fill and decorate, and face painting)
